4Design’s contribution to contemporary work environments.
Designing work spaces today means taking care of well-being in systemic way.
Not only ergonomics and layout, but also comfort acoustic, perceptual quality e material coherence They contribute to defining environments capable of supporting concentration, relationships and corporate identity.
Inside the Pininfarina headquarters, these principles find a clear declination: representative spaces, collective environments and rooms dedicated to work, are designed as places with high architectural quality, where each element contributes to the overall experience.
In this context, 4Design contributed as technical partner specialized in the supply of sound-absorbing solutions, integrating punctually and respectfully into the architectural project.

Acoustics as part of architecture
In advanced workspaces, acoustics are a truly invisible infrastructure.
An acoustically controlled environment decreases cognitive fatigue, improve the quality of interactions and makes it more readable and comfortable space over time.
At the Pininfarina headquarters, sound-absorbing systems were integrated directly into the architectural surfaces, becoming part of the design of ceilings and walls, without introducing extraneous or dissonant elements.

Company canteen: managing noise in shared spaces
The company canteen is one of the most acoustically challenging environments: large volumes, high traffic, hard surfaces, and continuous use throughout the day. 4Design supplied the sound-absorbing slats. 4sound® Barcode, applied both to false ceilings and walls.
Melamine finishes Carbo Pine and Elm Natural, its Fireproof black-paste MDF, help create a warm and welcoming environment, while the acoustic treatment helps reduce diffused noise and improve the quality of conversation. The result is a space that maintains a convivial character without sacrificing comfort, even when fully used.

Acropolis meeting room: concentration and formal continuity
In the “Acropolis” meeting room, dedicated to meetings and decision-making moments, acoustic control is closely linked to the need for concentration e clarity in communication.
Designed to adapt to non-linear geometries, the stave 4sound® P16F02 It allows the cladding of the main curved wall, maintaining visual continuity, material quality and high acoustic performance.
The lacquered finish RAL 000 80 00 Foggy Grey it dialogues with the architectural language of the space, enhancing the formal cleanliness of the intervention.
The same finish was applied to the smooth, custom-made panels that cover the two short sides of the room, integrating pocket doors and a door.
The result is one unitary space e readable, in which the sound-absorbing function is inserted discreetly, strengthening the comfort and overall identity of the environment.

Black Room: Perceptual Control and Immersive Atmosphere
The Black Room is a more introspective space, designed for activities that require focus and control.
The false ceiling made with drugs 4sound® P16F02 in finishing Carbo Pine It works on both acoustic and perceptual levels. The dark color and texture of the wood contribute to a cozy atmosphere, while the sound-absorbing treatment reduces reverberation and improves overall sound quality, making the space more comfortable even for prolonged use.

A technical contribution to the well-being of work spaces
This project inside the Pininfarina headquarters demonstrates how acoustics, if approached thoughtfully, can become an integral part of the architectural quality of workspaces.
The role of 4Design fits in as specialized technical support, capable of providing customized solutions consistent with high-level projects, respecting the architectural identity and design concept. In contemporary work environments, well-being also depends on what is unseen, but perceived every day.
And it is precisely in this balance between technique, material, and design that acoustic comfort becomes a real and lasting value.
